Milestone have been instructed by Persimmon Homes Limited as part of a wider project team to deliver a major, residential led, extension to the south-west of Hartlepool. The scheme comprises circa. 2,780 dwellings with associated community infrastructure in the form of a 2FE primary school as well as local neighbourhood shops and facilities.
Milestone are working closely with Hartlepool Borough Council as well as the Highways Agency and other neighbouring authorities to deliver a credible movement and access strategy that accommodates the level of trips generated by the proposed development. This includes the identification of proportionate, costed off-site highway and transport mitigation measures, linked to phased trigger points within the release of development on the site.
Milestone are also an integral part of the team developing the masterplan for the site advising on the scale and form of highway infrastructure required, street inventories, bridge design, pedestrian and cycle links to promote connectivity within the site and links to the local community, travel planning and promotion of smarter choices. Milestone's support also includes the full assessment of the scheme proposals through the preparation of a Transport Assessment, Travel Plan Framework and Environmental Statement Chapter to accompany a part outline / part full application.
