Milestone Transport Planning (MTP) were commissioned to prepare a number of technical reports, most notably: Transport Assessment, Residential Travel Plan, Delivery & Servicing Plan, and Parking Design and Management Plan (PDMP). These were for a planning application comprising the re-development of the site to provide 119 residential units in 4 buildings ranging from 3 to 5 storeys, with 61 car parking spaces (including car club and accessible provision).
In accordance with the London Borough of Waltham Forest’s (LBoWF’s) pre-application advice and emerging London Plan, the level of on-site car parking was reduced to 61 spaces (parking ratio of 51%), to enhance the quality of open space, play space and amenity available to future households. In addition to adopting a ‘car-capped’ approach preventing future households from parking vehicles on the surrounding streets within the Section 106 Agreement, MTP prepared a Parking Design and Management Plan (PDMP) detailing how the on-site spaces (i.e. Disabled / Electric Vehicle Recharging bays) would be allocated to future households.
