Percy Drive, Amble

Milestone prepared a Transport Assessment and Framework Travel Plan on behalf of Cheviot Holdings Ltd to accompany a planning application for the development of up to 272 residential units on land to the east of Percy Drive, Amble.

The Movement and Access Strategy for the site, developed by MTP, informed the site layout to reflect the proposals to provide one vehicular route into the site, of which MTP provided the general arrangement, supplemented by a series of pedestrian and cycle accesses allowing greater permeability between the site and the surrounding local highway and residential developments.

Improvements to the off-site footway and cycle network were developed and agreed with the Council, and as a result planning permission was granted in 2018. MTP are now working with the housing developer to complete the Section 278 highways approvals required to bring the development to market.
